Job Summary

This role will support all aspects of Shake Shack’s real estate development strategy for Company-operated locations, including: site selection and pro forma modeling, analysis of market opportunities and downsides, and impact assessment of new development on the existing portfolio of restaurant locations. You will be responsible for conducting detailed analyses of various markets and regions using geospatial, demographic, and economic data; assisting in developing and refining statistical and machine learning models; and, preparing and presenting data-driven conclusions and visualizations to executive leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a passion for data analysis, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

This role will work closely with Shake Shack’s Real Estate team and Shake Shack’s Business Intelligence team to leverage data science and advanced analytics to enable evidence-based decision making. This role is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team of analytical professionals that partner across the organization beyond Real Estate with Finance, Operations, & Marketing teams to tackle data-driven questions that can be solved through the application of data analysis, statistics, and computer programming.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of potential restaurant locations leveraging geospatial, demographic, psychographic and economic data

  • Support the development and implementation of machine learning models

  • Perform geospatial analyses to evaluate the impact of potential restaurant sites on existing revenue and inform site selection

  • Develop KPIs and dashboard visualizations to enable better understanding of new site revenue potential, including opportunities, risks, and sensitivity analysis

  • Equip Real Estate deal-making team with actionable insights on existing portfolio performance and business trends, revenue drivers, and market opportunities

  • Perform analyses to support overall pipeline plans and individual market-level strategies, including total addressable market analyses, new market evaluation and trade area-level analysis

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • 2-4+ years of robust work experience in analytics, business intelligence, statistical analysis or related experience

  • Experience applying advanced analytical and statistical methods to geospatial, demographic, and economic data sources

  • Highly skilled in SQL, Python, Tableau, Alteryx (or related toolset)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Retail or hospitality industry experience is a plus

  • Ability to turn raw data into actionable insights for C-Level executives

Pay Range - $82,410.00 - $105,110.00
